Introduction --------------- This document briefly summarizes executable by executable the most important changes made since the last release of ctools. The code complies to GammaLib version 0.11.0 or above. 2. Configuration ----------------- None 3. Python interface ------------------- A specific cscripts Python module has been created for cscripts. This module can be imported using >>> import cscripts The obsutils utility functions have also been moved into the scripts folder. The obsutils.spectrum() function has been removed as it is now replaced by the csspec script. Some tests for the installed ctools package have been added. They can be executed by typing the following under Python: >>> cscripts.test() 4. Support model ---------------- The ctool base class now handles the specification of the --help option on the command line. For each tools or script, a help text that is generated from the .rst documentation files is displayed on the console when --help is given. 5. ctobssim - CTA observation simulation ---------------------------------------- None 6. ctselect - CTA event selection --------------------------------- None 7. ctbin - CTA event binning ---------------------------- ctbin now verifies if an ROI has been set properly, and throws an exception in case that no ROI information could be found. 8. ctlike - Maximum likelihood fitting -------------------------------------- The optimizer is now allocated upon construction so that ctlike always returns a meaningful object using the opt() method. 9. cttsmap - Generation of Test Statistics map ---------------------------------------------- None 10. ctskymap - CTA sky mapping ------------------------------ None 11. ctmodel - CTA counts cube modelling --------------------------------------- None 12. ctexpcube - CTA exposure cube generation -------------------------------------------- None 13. ctpsfcube - CTA point spread function cube generation --------------------------------------------------------- None 14. ctbkgcube - CTA background cube generation ---------------------------------------------- Limit the power law prefactor to a range of [0.01,100] and the index to [-5,5]. This solves some stability problems in csspec (#1547). 15. ctcubemask - CTA cube filtering ----------------------------------- None 16. ctbutterfly - Generate butterfly diagrams --------------------------------------------- None 17. ctulimit - Compute upper limit ---------------------------------- None 18. cterror - Likelihood profile error computation -------------------------------------------------- Added initial version of the likelihood profile error computation tool. This tool will scan the likelihood function to find the confidence interval for all source parameters. 19. Examples ------------ None 20. Scripts ----------- Added csinfo script to provide some information about the GammaLib and ctools installation. To be run in case of problems to help diagnostics.
