New Features and Important Changes in GammaLib 00-04-10

1. Introduction
---------------
This document briefly summarizes module by module the most important changes made since the last release of GammaLib.
2. Configuration
-----------------
The configuration script aborts now if no C++ compiler is found.
pkg-config was reintroduced for finding the cfitsio library, but
it's only used if pkg-config is available. This may help to
increase the portability to various platforms, although problems
with incorrect pkg-config files have been encountered on some
distributions (OpenSUSE).
The configuration script now also handles fitsio.h headers found in
specific subdirectory (which is needed to compile on OpenSUSE and
Scientific Linux).
Set the installation directory as the default runtime library
directory for Python. This solves a `make check' problem that occurred
on some distributions because it could not find the cfitsio
library that was installed in that location.
