…or the observation Python module. The classname() method returns in a human readable format the class name. This method is needed for full automatic typecasting in Python. Full automatic typecasting has for the moment been implemented for the observation module.

GCTAAeff2D The read() method now takes a reference instead of a pointer. GCTAAeffArf Rename read_arf() to read(). read() now takes a reference as argument instead of a pointer.

Add GChatter argument to print() method. The print() method now takes an argument of type GChatter to control the chattiness of the output in a homogenous manner. Pass NORMAL chatter level in __str__ method. Add chatter argument to print() methods. Use GLog::chatter() method to control the chattiness of the log stream operator. Add chatter() methods and provide member access through const references. Add chatter() methods, provide member access through const references, and declare one liners as inline methods. The chatter() methods control the new m_chatter attribute that is used to control the chattiness of the object's print() methods. name() and version() methods return const references. logFileOpen() method now sets the chattiness from the applications's chatter parameter, and name() and version() methods now return a const reference.

The CTA response class makes now use of the GCTAAeff classes to handle the effective area response. The GCTAResponse::load_aeff() method automatically detects the response type, allocates the appropriate GCTAAeff derived class, and loads the response information. The GCTAObservation::read() and GCTAObservation::write() method also handle now transparently all 3 effective area response formats. Only the effective area correction for ARF response files is not yet implemented. This will be done once the response factorization has also be applied for the point spread function.

We remove the save() and write() methods as they are not implemented so far. It's not clear whether we ever need them. So we remove them for the moment, as adding them later is always better than removing them later (in terms of interface change).
-
These methods are now pure virtual methods in the base class and have to be implement in the derived class.
-
The access interface implemented using an operator() has been generalized so that now one, two and three dimensional effective areas can be handled. A flag has also been added to switch from Etrue tu Ereco in the effective area access. The class now also makes use of the new GCTAResponseTable methods that avoid unnecessary computations.
-
An abstract base class has been introduced to handle CTA effective area response functions. As first implementation of this base class, a 2D effective area class has been coded that handles response tables. The working of these classes have been checked through the Python interface (not yet committed). No unit test exists so far.
