Put the type() and region() methods in the GModelSpatial base class to avoid code duplication. The region is now set by the derived classes using the pure virtual set_region() method.

The GModelSpatialRadialProfile class is the base class for an arbitrary radial model. The GModelSpatialRadialProfileGauss class basically illustrates its usage, and provides a comparison with the analytical Gaussian model, implemented by GModelSpatialRadialGauss.
